In ancient China, people believe the grains and beans are all kinds of traditional medicines. Five main kinds of grains and beans are also point to “Yin/Yang and Five-element thought” (I will introduce it later). Chinese people like using Five Cereals to instead of all kinds of foods. They are including (Unhusked) Rice, Wheat, Soy Beans, Corns (Maize) and Potatoes. The Marijuana seeds (nontoxic) are also considered as the sixth main cereals. The classification of food products is changing along with the development of society and progress of times. Nowadays, the main food crops are maize, sorghum, millet, rice, wheat, potato, beans, grains and so on.
Ancient Chinese people believe the all disease is related to the food we eat. They paid great attention on dietary collocation alike us nowadays. They created a lot of dietary catering recipes (I will introduce them in my Cook Book). Many of them are very popular and have big influence on the modern dietary food manufacturing process.
